As much as everyone desires to study in a reputable university, budget and funds is an important factor to consider. Here is why we are bringing you 10 countries to look out for when considering the cost for your study abroad plans.

Norway

Norway is a top country to study in, if you are considering studying abroad. As it remains free to people within and outside the EU, at public universities with exception to a few specialized programs. 

One other reason to study in Norway, is the availability to English-taught programs at all levels plus a high number of  locals proficient in English. Although, living in Norway can be expensive in comparison to other Nordic countries as living expenses cost around NOK 139,680 ($17,200) per year.

Taiwan

Taiwan is one Asian country to consider studying in. Aside from the fact that it has one of its universities; National Taiwan University, ranked as the 72nd in the QS world university ranking 2019, the country offers more than 120 taught courses in English at over 40 universities.

Taiwan is also a popular destination to learn Mandarin, and offers a good quality of life with relatively low living costs; accommodation costs as low as TW$88,000 (US$2,900) per year.

Germany

Germany is a land of ideas, known for its popularity with international students. This is because it offers reputable universities, relatively low cost and a high quality of life. No tuition fees charged at undergraduate and PhD level in all public universities. Master’s degree students who have not had their undergraduate studies in Germany will pay upwards of €20,000 (US $23,450) per year, which you can still find a scholarship to help out.

Living expenses cost at least €10,200 (US $11,950) per year and this depends on your lifestyle, location and spending habits.

France 

Tuition fees in France for both domestic and international students starts from €170 (US $200) per year for (licensed) bachelor’s degree, €243 (US $285) for most master’s degrees, and €380 (US $445) for PhD. Fees could be higher in some selective grandes ecoles and grands etablissements, which set their own fees.

Living expenses are always higher in the capital “Paris” but you might find it worth it after all, as Paris stands as the fifth world’s student city. Also, if you do not know how to speak French fluently, you can study in France in English as it has the majority of its English-taught programs at postgraduate levels.

Mexico

Mexico is Latin America’s most visited country and has a lot of offers for international students. Tuition fees vary though, with private universities charging more, on an average of US $6,300 per year for international undergraduate students in the capital.

Living expenses are also reasonably low in Mexico, with all adding up to $9,250 for the capital and $6,450 elsewhere. 

Although the main language in Mexico is Spanish, Mexican universities are offering more English-taught courses to attract international students.

Hungary

Hungary is more affordable than most Eastern European countries. This is the top decision for students who want to study in Europe but do not want to pay so much fees.

In Hungary, the average annual cost of tuition is between 2000 and 5000 euros. When compared to other European countries like Madrid and Athens , it is 30% less expensive. With studying in Hungary, your academic life and future career will benefit greatly from living and studying in the EU.

Poland

No doubt Poland is amongst the least expensive places to study and live in Europe. Without housing expenses, a month in Poland costs US $400- US $600 and their universities’ annual fee is  between 1000-4000 euros.

Lastly, Polish universities adhere to international norms. Hence, their degrees are recognized worldwide.

Malaysia

Malaysia is the fourth affordable country in Asia that is open to international students. Thanks to the diversity in the country.

Malaysia charges foreign students an average of MYR 7,000-12,000 per year ($1,500-$2,700). Compared to countries like Singapore and London, the capital of Malaysia is 60%-70% less expensive.

Brazil

Brazil is one of the least expensive countries to study in for so many reasons, one of which is; Brazilian state colleges offer free tuition to foreign students.

Aside from schooling with no tuition fee in addition to low cost of living, the possibility of learning Portuguese and the chance of experiencing Brazil’s diverse culture and beaches is another reason to want to study in Brazil.

Kenya

Studying in Kenya is an exciting experience to have as you will experience the colorful East African culture firsthand, as an international student in Kenya. Also, you get to witness Kenya’s dynamic development and significance as a regional leader plus it is a very affordable area to live and pursue your education.

Living expenses in Kenya range from $400 to $600 USD per month, while tuition fees are between $100 and $5,000 USD. As an international student in Kenya, you not only benefit from the culture but also earn a distinctive degree.
